That would be pretty damn cool but what if you could actually achieve all of these things just by breathing?

You’re probably thinking, ‘That sounds ridiculous; no chance’

Meet Wim Hof, the man who will change your mind.

Wim Hof is a Dutch extreme athlete, and he believes you can accomplish incredible things by developing command over your body, breath, and mind through the use of specific breathing techniques.

In fact, he is so sure of it that he willingly injected himself with an endotoxin (essentially a bacteria) and was able to control his sympathetic nervous system and immune response to cure himself in a matter of hours, which is unheard of.

And that's not it; he's done countless different stunts that, let's be honest, would push most of us over the edge to prove mind over body.

His breathing techniques worked so well that he started making content about them and, in time, developed his own way of controlling your body and mind through breathing alone.

So, what does the technique look like?

One round of the Wim Hof Method breathing technique includes these steps:

  • Take a strong inhalation through the nose.

  • Let out a relaxed exhalation through the mouth.

  • Repeat for 30 breaths.

  • On the 30th breath, exhale to 90% and hold for as long as you can.

  • When you feel your body really needs to take a breath, inhale fully and hold for 15 seconds before releasing.

And then do the above three times; that’s it!
