🌳 How to increase your rewards in life

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.”Dale Carnegie

In simple terms, there is no success without failure, the aspect of success that makes it worth it is the failures that it took to get there.

DELAYED GRATIFICATION

A primary reason for people not succeeding is their lack of patience and understanding of gratification. There is an idea in modern society that quicker is better, people want things now. They want to get rich quick, lose weight quickly, build muscle quickly, and get famous quickly but that's very rarely how life works.

Things that come quickly don't come easily nor consistently.

The problem is that people tend to want to cash out very quickly, they put In little work and expect immediate returns although time compounds the growth and therefore compounds the reward. You have to delay your own reward and your own gratification

due to the fact that the end result will be so much better.

Picture it as a marshmallow. You have a marshmallow that you want to eat and you also have a fire, you know that you have two choices. You either eat the marshmallow straight away or roast it on the fire first until it goes crispy brown and all soft and gooey, you either cash out your instant gratification or be patient and understand by

delaying your feeling of gratification you are only increasing the value of the end result.

The same goes for life, knowing that you have to sacrifice short-term wins for long-term luxuries is a mental game,

it's a game of resilience and clarity.

The idea of delayed gratification is relevant in every aspect of life from investing, working out, building a career, growing a business, and chasing achievements. With all of them, you have to delay the feeling of being rewarded until it is truly worth it.

How do you know when that milestone is hit? You don't, you have to create your own targets and your own timeline for when you achieve what you consider a success.

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

Take a minute to think about what your goals are, in the gym, financially, and mentally and make a conscious effort to understand the principle of delayed gratfication.
