🌳 How to make yourself 37x better

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"If you think the price of winning is too high, wait until you get the bill of regret. That bill of regret is generational"Tim S. Grover

1% BETTER EVERY DAY

The Idea of self-improvement can be overwhelming, we see people who have achieved utter greatness, have done incredible things and have lived many lives and it makes you feel small and incomplete and those achievements so far-fetched whereas all you have to do is tweak the perspective. Those people didn't wake up one day and achieve those things, it was a compounded effect of trials & tribulations, failure after failure and most

importantly small bits of consistent growth.

Don't focus on changing your entire life in one sitting,

focus on improving just 1% each day

, and do one small thing every single day that helps you grow as a person

(this newsletter is just that!)

because if you try to change everything in a small timeline your growth will be extremely inconsistent. If you change your diet, lifestyle, circle of friends, your job all within a small time frame it won't last. You'll find yourself improving and crashing over and over again and you'll end up not far off where you started.

If you just focus on 1% Improvement every single day you'll end up

37x better

by the end of just one year. This is why small choices don't make much of a difference at the time but add up over the long term.

The caveat to this method of growth is that

you can't tell it's happening until enough time has passed.

Growing 1% each day doesn't have an effect in the short term so that's why it's best to zoom out on your own graph. Stop looking at it from a 2-week perspective or a 3-month one and change it to a 2-year or 5-year perspective. Similar to how compound interest works so does this method of growth.

This is a lesson from James Clear in his book Atomic habits (which you can buy

!)

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

Focus on the small things, the things that are within reach that you can improve. For example, start by learning a new skill and practising it every day or by reading 10 pages of a book every single day

(thats almost a book a month!!)

From there you can adapt your progress and continue to one up yourself.

TAKEAWAYS:

Achieving greatness is small compounded steps, a lot of them!
