🌳 You don't need to break bad habits, heres why

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters."Colin powell

In simple terms, it's the minor almost unnoticeable habits that create the big changes. Habits have a compound effect meaning with consistency & persistence you will achieve excellence.

CAN'T BREAK BAD HABITS? CREATE ONES THAT COUNTER THEM.

We are always taught to break bad habits. Go to sleep too late? Thats a bad habit, break it!

But there are some habits that are hard-wired in us and almost counter-productive to put in the energy to try and break. It's psychologically more difficult to break a habit that you have had for most of your life than to develop a new one.

And so it only makes sense to play to the strengths of your mind. Develop a new habit that counters the bad one.

Here's an example; If your bad habit is that you go to sleep too late and you have been doing it for the majority of your life then develop the habit of tracking your sleep meticulously. This way you can start to understand how your body best functions and what periods of sleep affect you best, overall fixing your schedule and naturally countering a bad habit!

Now do not get me wrong, this does not work for every bad habit you have, in fact, most of the time you should make a conscious effort to get rid of the negative ones but for those stubborn ones figure out the habit that you can develop to counter it.

TAKEAWAYS:

The best way to figure out which habits are bad is to meticulously track all of your habits throughout your day and then go back and analyse which ones added no value to you.
