THE POWER OF GOING FIRST

282 Words | 1 Min 2 Sec Read

Learning to go first is by far the most underrated habit that you can learn in the world of not only entrepreneurship but also for those who want to live an abundant life because learning to go first is the principle of taking initiative.

It's taking the first step, making the first decision, and being the one to stand out regardless of the potential judgment or failure.

Going first every time is a common trait that you’ll see in every successful person—they don’t wait for things to come to them; they go out of their way to go first in order to get what it is that they want.

Learn to go first.

Introduce yourself.

Ask them out.

Host the event.

Voice an idea.

Tell people what you want.

You’ll face more rejections when things go wrong, but you’ll get all of the credit when things go right.

The world rewards those who go first because so few people do.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you need to act before you think, do the risky thing, and then you can react to the decision you made because the people that do are the ones that go first.

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

You can quite quickly remember a time when you had the opportunity to do something and you didn't—you folded entirely and ended up regretting it because you were waiting for something to happen before you did.

You missed out on that opportunity simply because you didn’t go first, because you didn’t put your foot forward and grab the opportunity by the horns.

Well, we’ve all been there, but here's your sign to not do it again.

Make it a habit to always go first.

LESSON OF THE DAY ⤵️

“How do I learn to trust myself and start to build the relationship with myself up?”

- Anonymous

You need to respect yourself. Similar to how you can’t truly love anyone if you don’t love yourself, you can’t truly respect anyone if you don’t respect yourself.

Your own self-respect should be your No. 1 priority, and that is built up simply through discipline and doing what you told yourself that you would do.

If you lack trust, it is because trust has been broken somewhere due to you not putting your best intentions first.

If you want to rebuild trust, you need to be selfish. Prioritise yourself and your best intentions, and with enough repetition, your trust and respect will be rebuilt.
