HOW TO NEVER GIVE UP AGAIN

269 Words | 1 Min Read

Research has shown that grit is the characteristic most closely linked to success—in other words, not giving up.

Therefore, giving up shouldn’t even be within your vocabulary, so here are a few tricks you can use to never give up again:

Know that you’ll never regret it.

You will never regret not giving up, just like you’ll never regret going to the gym or eating healthy.

You only regret what you know you shouldn’t have done, and therefore you will never feel worse after the hard work is done. The mental barrier to starting and completing that hard work is the grit that shines through.

Know that discomfort is temporary.

In order to grow, we have to experience discomfort and pain, that is the only formula that leads to positive outcomes.

You have to tear your muscles before you rebuild them; you have to be uncomfortable before you’re comfortable. It’s all part of the process.

It’s all part of life.

Life is a constant balance between giving in to the ease of distraction and overcoming the pain of discipline. It is not an exaggeration to say that our lives and identities are defined by this delicate balance.

What is life if not the sum of a hundred thousand daily battles and tiny decisions to either gut it out or give it up?

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

Remember that you’ve done it before; you have gone through the pain, struggle, discomfort, and downfall, and you’re still here, which means you already know how to not give up.

Give yourself some credit for where you have gotten to because you deserve it.

TAKEAWAYS:

3 reasons you should never give up:

  • Know that you’ll regret it.

  • Know that discomfort is temporary.

  • Know that it's all part of life.

LESSON OF THE DAY ⤵️

“I feel like Im falling behind in life, any advice?”

- Anonymous

By whose standards do you feel like you’re falling behind? Is it your own standards and expectations or someone else's?

If it’s not your own, then it shouldn’t matter; you can’t live your life on someone else’s timeline because then it's not your life that you’re living at all.

Create your own expectations and goals and work towards them; ignore all outside noise and stay focused on your mission.
