What 'Hard' Will You Choose?

Everything in life is hard. Chasing your goals is hard, but so is doing nothing and having to deal with the consequences. Becoming an entrepreneur is hard, but so is working a 9-5. Working out every day is hard, but so is becoming overweight.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Twenty years from now you’ll be more disappointed by the things you did not do than the ones you did.”

Mark Twain

CHOOSE YOUR HARD

287 Words | 1 Min 2 Sec Read

Everything in life is hard. Chasing your goals is hard, but so is doing nothing and having to deal with the consequences.

Becoming an entrepreneur is hard, but so is working a 9-5. Working out every day is hard, but so is becoming overweight.

Taking risks is damn hard, but not being in control of your own life is definitely much harder.

The truth is that you can’t escape the hard decisions. Every decision you make is going to be hard in a different way, but what you can do is choose which hard you would rather bear.

Is it the hard choice with a potentially fulfilling outcome or the hard choice that has no upside to it?

It is much harder, however, to choose your own hard as opposed to having your hard chosen for you.

What's meant by this is that the autopilot choice always seems like the easy one, but if you know that whether you make the decision or someone else makes it for you, it's still going to be hard, why don’t you just make the decision for yourself?

Remember that with every decision you make, you have to make a hard choice.

Always favour the one that has more upside and puts you in control, because then the hard times will all be worth it.

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

The earlier you make your hard decisions and stick with them, the better life you will end up living.

So, the question becomes, which hard will you choose?

LESSON OF THE DAY ⤵️

Don’t worry about whether things will be hard. Because they will be. Instead, focus on the fact that these things will help you. This is why you needn’t fear them.

“How can I get myself to start doing the things I need to do and know I want to do, or how do I get the best methods for making making my goal a reality and then actually doing those things.

Thanks in advance and a big shoutout to you guys at Kaizen for doing this! It has helped tremendously!”

If you’re struggling to start doing the things that you know you need to be doing, then you first need to figure out why you aren’t already doing them.

Is it due to a fear of failure? Laziness? Procrasionaton?

It's not about finding a method or strategy to start doing those things; it's about finding out why you’re not already doing them, especially if you know exactly what you need to be doing.

Ask yourself what the alternative is. If you don’t do the things you know you should be doing, what path will you end up going down?
