Growth is all psychological, all of it. From mental to physical to spiritual it all starts with your mindset and your view of where you currently are but there is a 'mindset hack', if you like, that will enable you to grow in whatever aspect of life you choose to, and it's stupid simple. Growth is all psychological, all of it. From mental to physical to spiritual it all starts with your mindset and your view of where you currently are but there is a 'mindset hack', if you like, that will enable you to grow in whatever aspect of life you choose to, and it's stupid simple. You increase your standard.
You have a standard for everything in life. You have a standard amount of money you have in your bank account, a standard amount of times that you visit family, and a standard amount of water you drink a day. This standard has been set by your previous and current perceptions of life.
Why is this relevant? Well, the only way to grow is to increase your standard. Let's say you normally have $3,000 in your bank account and when you get paid that shoots up to $5,000. Your standard is $3,000 so with the extra $2k you now have you will feel no guilt spending it because you're way above your ‘standard’ anyways so it's no Issue. By increasing your standard you are increasing what seems like the 'norm' and typically, when you have less than your standard you start to worry, you become extremely conscious of how much money you spend until it gets back to $3,000 again.
So whether your goal is to drink more water, see family more often, or go to the gym more times a week, do so until that level is your new standard. This will take some time but once it becomes your new normal it feels unnatural and uncomfortable to go less than that.
Wanna make more money? Make a conscious effort to have more in your bank account and whenever you dip below you will do everything in your power to get back to that level of normality.
