🌳 How To Get 5 Years Ahead In 2 Years Time

Time is finite; we all know this. It's the most precious tool that we have access to as human beings because it's the only thing that we all have a certain amount of, and it's rapidly depleting for every second that you’re reading this. Pretty depressing, I know. That being the case, as young, ambitious people, we can’t wait; we can’t let time run its course before we see success. We have to act now and not wait until we are 65 before we start living the life we deserve but live it as soon as possible, and the only way to do that is to manipulate how we use time.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Success is often a function of who is willing to suck at something the longest.”

What's meant by this is to not get 3 hours of work done in 3 hours, but get a whole 3 days’ worth of work done in 3 hours, and there are a few ways that we can do this...

The first is becoming more selfish with your time.

In order to utilise time to its fullest potential, you have to become selfish with it. Your time is your time, which means you really have to pick and choose where and who you spend it with because failing to do so means it's not really your time to begin with as it's controlled by outside noise.

Becoming selfish with your time also means to only make decisions or do things that benefit you in multiple ways. In order to make the most out of the time we have, we have to make the output we receive disconnected from the time that we put in, which means only making decisions that benefit you in more ways than one.

For example, if you’re about to go on a walk, how can you maximise the output you get? Could you also reply to messages or brainstorm a new content idea? Maybe you call the people you need to or spend it listening to a podcast.

The aim here is to get into the habit of having multiple outputs for your singular input.

The second thing you will have to do in order to utilise time is make sacrifices.

It will probably hit you hard, but you have to make sacrifices. Actually, first, you need to have your priorities straight in order to know what sacrifices you need to make and then make those sacrifices.

If this means you don’t go out on the weekend to get plastered and see your friends, then so be it; if they are real friends, they will understand your compromise. If it means you cut down on the time you’re on your phone or the time you play games, then so be it.

You won’t like making these sacrifices, but your future self will thank you.

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

Start by assessing where you are pouring your time down the drain. This takes some real out-of-body self-reflection, but when done properly, it can change everything.

TAKEAWAYS:

In order to utilise the time you have properly there are a few things you can do:

The first is becoming more selfish with your time.

The second thing you will have to do in order to utilise time is make sacrifices.
