šŸŒ³ How To Have Full Control Over Your Emotions

Feelings are something that happens naturally, we get tired, we get angry, we get excited and these are all comprised of external factors. If we didn't have feelings we wouldn't be able to express, love, and feel which are some of the core fundamentals of a human's life.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

ā€œSetting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.ā€

Tony Robbins

In simple terms, how would you expect to achieve some great if you don't know what that 'great' is? You have to visualise it, write it down, and understand it inside and out.

HOW TO BE IN CONTROL OF YOUR EMOTIONS

Feelings are something that happens naturally, we get tired, we get angry, we get excited and these are all comprised of external factors. If we didn't have feelings we wouldn't be able to express, love, and feel which are some of the core fundamentals of a human's life.

Feelings aren't a choice.

The issue is that we frequently confuse our emotions with our actions. For example, when we are angry, we act angry; when we are weary, we act sleepy; and when we are excited, we act excited; all of these actions are completely within our control.

Our behaviour is how we convey our emotions, Therefore it's crucial to maintain control over it because that's what other people see when they interact with us.

Just because we feel a certain way doesn't mean we have to act that way, if you're tired you can still go to the gym. If you're angry you can still love your family, if you don't feel like doing that hard work you can still push yourself to do it.

Your feeling's are an excuse, you have every right to feel a certain way however how you behave because of how you feel is your responsibility because it's entirely in your control.

Learn to control your actions.

Know that when you're tired that's okay but you're making the conscious choice to act it, to embody the image of being tired, the repercussions are on you. All it takes is some self-control to get out of that state. Relax, reset and improve.

Next time you're feeling a certain way just take a step back and ask yourself 'Am I just exaggerating how I feel and allowing it to take over my behaviour?' You may just find that all it takes is a little self-awareness to get out of that state.

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

Make a conscious choice to evaluate your feelings and decide whether you're going to let them take over your actions and behaviours.

TAKEAWAYS:

You don't control how you feel but you most certainly control how you react to that feeling.
