🌳 Your muscles are a pharmacy

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have."Thomas Jefferson

In simple terms, the scientific way to increase your luck is to do more things, work harder, give yourself more opportunities, and put yourself out there more and you'll notice an influx of luck come your way.

YOUR MUSCLES ARE A PHARMACY

We all know that staying active and working out is good for your mental health but did you know it was so good to this extreme?

There was a study run in 2014 that revealed that your Skeletal muscle is an endocrine organ that secrete hormones into your bloodstream that affect every system of your body. Your muscles secrete chemicals and proteins when you exercise which is also extremely good for your brain health. It explained that when you contract your muscles they secrete these proteins into your bloodstream that make you resilient to stress and can protect you from depression which scientists call 'Hope Moluclues'.

This idea that your muscles are manufacturing anti-depressant molecules is fascinating and the only way to get them into your bloodstream so that they can travel to your brain is through your muscles contracting. Thats it.

It's practically a pharmacy in your muscles and anything you do that contracts them from walking, swimming, callisthenics, weightlifting etc will dump these 'Hope Molucules' into your bloodstream that work as an anti-depressant and also help recover from trauma.

It's one of the reasons why so many find themself intuitively hitting the gym after a bad break-up, for example, it's part of wanting to improve themselves and part of their body naturally helping them recover.

It's also one of the reasons Yoga was created, the Indians have been using these techniques for thousands upon thousands of years.

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

Get your body moving, this doesn't have to be 6 times a week, it can start off as 2 30-minute walks a week and build it up into something where you see constant improvement physically and mentally.

TAKEAWAYS:

Your body knows best, nature has been perfecting the human body for god knows how long so it would be foolish to go against that.
