FRIDAY 24th

🌳 Gamify your growth

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Any person capable of angering you becomes your master."Epictetus

In simple terms, you should be the only person in control of your emotions, if someone else has the capabilities to control how you fell they are ultimately in control.

GAMIFY YOUR GROWTH

Constantly improving yourself and being on a self-development journey can become hard to consistently stick to and not only that but track and measure to know that you're on the right path. A good way to look at it from a unique perspective is to

gamify your growth.

Instead of looking at it from a normal perspective of 'im improving myself', treat yourself as a character in a game with your goal to level yourself up. For each skill you learn, book you read, each time you go to the gym, and each new person you meet you are levelling yourself up and

evolving your character into a more powerful and experienced one.

Once you have that locked down now understand that you are playing a game and levelling up your character,

you are the character and the game is life

. This way of looking at things takes the pressure off becoming this rich, young and successful person so early on and allows you to be patient. You know you will have to go through challenges, and tests, you have to fail and win and for each time you do, you're building up armour, growing your experience and becoming a better-rounded person.

Find the perspective of looking at your self-development journey that works for you. It doesn't have to be something you check up on every day, it can be a weekly check-up where you take a look at where you have improved and what you need to focus on. You can treat it like a game where you're trying to reach the highest level possible. You can even try and compete with your friends and hold each other accountable.

Whatever works for you, focus on that.

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

Test what works for you, do you need someone to hold you accountable? Should you start journaling so you can track your progress? Do you need to find a community of likeminded people and change your circle of friends?

TAKEAWAYS:

Everyone is on a self-development journey, their path may just look slightly different.
