Are You Falling Behind?

Are you falling behind? This is a question that you may have asked yourself or one that you may constantly ask yourself, like this little nagging voice in the back of your head that tells you you’re not good enough.

ARE YOU FALLING BEHIND?

Are you falling behind? This is a question that you may have asked yourself or one that you may constantly ask yourself, like this little nagging voice in the back of your head that tells you you’re not good enough.

And it's frustrating because when you do have this question of doubt, there is no clear answer; there's no chart to look at to see if you should be doing better or if you’re excelling.

It’s all vanity, which leaves you in the darkness with no clue if you’re falling behind or not.

Lucky for you, we are going to run you through a few quick reasons as to why you’re just where you need to be in your own journey.

Firstly, there is no such thing as falling behind.

Thats right, what does falling behind even mean?

Who are you falling behind?

The question you ask yourself is stupid because there is no correct amount of progress you should have made.

What we typically do, however, is look at the people around us. Those on social media or those in our friend group that we know, and we assume that thats where we should be too, and if we are anything less than that, then we are falling behind.

Thats an unhealthy case of obsessing over the comparison of other people, and I think we all know where comparing yourself leads you... the thief of your joy.

No one has the same journey as you.

Your journey is particular and special to you, and you know that because no one else lives it exactly as you do.

No one has the same experiences as you.

The same ups and downs

the same tough decisions to make.

Therefore, it's important to remember that you are where you should be. If you’re doing everything in your power to excel in your own life, then there's nothing else you should expect.

Becoming frustrated that you’re not where you want to be is just wasted energy when you’re already doing everything in your control to get you there.

TAKEAWAYS:

Next time you feel like you’re falling behind, remember these few things:

  • There is no such thing as falling behind because there is no one who has the perfect journey; there is no one who sets the standard of the life that you should be living.

  • No one has the same journey as you, and if you’re doing everything in your power to get to where you want to be, then you are exactly where you should be.

LESSON OF THE DAY ⤵️

“I'm trying to learn my way into online sales as a young teenager. I reached out to a guy on Instagram and he's offered to help me, for free and so far he has. I recently had my first mock call. A lot of people tell me nothing is for free and that I should be careful.

I guess the question is, how much should we trust other people?”

People will always have hidden intentions. It’s within human nature to always look for your own benefit in every situation, whether that's helping someone to try and sell them on a course or helping someone so that you can feel good about yourself. There will always be a takeaway in your favour.

You just have to try to identify their benefit early on and their real reason for doing what they do.

The sooner you can do that, the more control you will have over the situation.
