3 Ways to Figure Out What to Do With Your Life

Questioning what to do with your life is a question that, if left unanswered, will act as a thorn in your side for the rest of your life until you can come up with an answer.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“We do not learn from experience... we learn from reflecting on experience.”

John Dewey

FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR LIFE USING THESE 3 METHODS:

Questioning what to do with your life is a question that, if left unanswered, will act as a thorn in your side for the rest of your life until you can come up with an answer.

It’s also not an easy question to answer; there is no plug-and-play system that you can use to help you uncover it. There are, however, methods that you can use to help put you on the right path, and here are those methods:

The first method is to reverse-engineer the people you aspire to be like.

You may not know what you want to do with your life, but if you have an idea of what you want your future one to look like, you can work backwards. Lucky for us, a lot of the people that we aspire to be have shared their entire journey online, so all it takes is for you to put your detective glasses on and get to work.

Pick someone that you look up to, and there is a high chance that they have a digital footprint going way back to the start of their journey that you can follow.

The second method is figuring out what your Ikiagi is.

Your Ikiagi is a Japanese concept that is said to be the answer to the meaning of your life.

It is the intersection of what you love, what you’re good at, what you can be paid for, and what the world needs. This now leaves you with four specific questions to answer rather than one broad one.

The third method is to just start doing sh*t.

A/B split test your life and experience things; theres no way you can figure out what your life purpose is until you start doing things and experience different perceptions, ideas, and directions you can take.

Because the one thing that's for sure is that you’re not going to figure that out while sitting in your room on your phone.

As a final note, just remember that it will take time; it will take many failures, late nights, and ups and downs until you do start to figure it out. The best thing you can do from here is make a start.

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

Try out the methods yourself, reverse engineer the people that you look up to, ask yourself what your Ikiagi is, and start doing sh*t!

The above, mixed with a little bit of time, will tell you everything you need.

LESSON OF THE DAY ⤵️

“So, I've been mulling over this idea of starting a newsletter, but I'm hitting a roadblock. I mean, I can't quite figure out the niche, and there's just a bunch of other stuff floating around in my head. How do I just get myself to take the plunge and start it already?”

Take the smallest possible step that you can to start the momentum and bit by bit take slightly bigger steps.

There is no ‘secret trick’, you jut have to do it.
