3 WAYS TO 10X YOUR FOCUS

“A focused fool can accomplish more than a distracted idiot." Alex Hormozi

True success requires focus, and with the state of modern-day content, utter focus is becoming more and more rare, but lucky for you, we are going to do our best to help you out.

Here are 3 ways to 10x your focus:

1) The flow state.

Flow-state focus is the ability to enter a state of mind in which you are completely focused on a single task or activity. It’s a state of mind where time doesn’t even seem real as you are completely submerged in your task at hand to create effortless momentum.

It’s said that some of the smartest minds to ever live used flow states to progress so quickly in their respective industries.

Einstein and Isaac Newton also used the flow state, but at the time it didn’t have a label attached to it, so they just referred to it as ‘deep focus’.

2) Eliminate distractions.

The reason you get distracted is because there is an option to get distracted.

This means if you can get rid of the option entirely, then you should have no problem staying focused. This isn’t about putting your phone out of reach, but putting it in a different room entirely.

3) Set yourself goal checkpoints.

Use the Goldilox rule: if the goal is too far out of sight, you will lose motivation; if it's too easy, you won’t care enough for it; if it's just out of reach, it gives you something challenging enough but still attainable to work towards.

Break down your big goal into stepping stones, or milestones, if you like, that give you a speed boost each time you achieve one to hit the next.

ACTIONABLE NEXT STEPS:

1) Do some research and learn how to enter the flow state on demand by using cues and triggers to do so in order to make it a superpower that you can turn on when necessary.

2) Analyse your periods of focus and try to identify what it is that is the obstacle in your way. Is it your phone? The people around you? Is the TV on that constantly grabs your attention?

Whatever it is, be prepared to go to extreme measures to eliminate distractions entirely (apart from the people, of course!)

3) Break down your long-term ambitious goal into smaller, actionable goals on paper that you can treat as a checkpoint and work towards.

LESSON OF THE DAY ⤵️

“I want to start my own business, but everytime I sit down to start I get overwhelmed and end up procrastinating. I am passionate about the ideas, but everytime I try to start, I panic. Any ideas on what I can do to stop it, focus and actually start something? Thank you!”

Try putting yourself under some time constraints and creating a plan of action timeline.

If you give yourself a set amount of hours or days to complete different tasks that add up to your overall goal, you will feel more pressured to get a move on as opposed to just doing it when you feel like doing it.

You can use a calendar or a to-do list, whatever it is, to put yourself under a time constraint, and even better if you can make someone hold you accountable to that constraint.
