3 UNCOMMON HABITS TO GET AHEAD

We’ve said it before, but we will say it again. Habits make or break us as people.

The wrong habits can act as an anchor to our growth, whereas the right habits can act as an excellent. Here are 3 habits that you can develop that will help you get ahead of the majority of other people.

1) Studying the past

The best way to predict the future is to study the past, the reason being that everything in life has a cycle.

The stock market has a cycle, industries have cycles, and the world itself has a cycle—cycles of worldwide disasters, political cycles, and anything else you can think of.

The relevance of this is that the more you can study the past, the more you will come to understand the future and why things happen the way they do.

Not only that, but the past is full of knowledge. People tend to only study whats happening in the modern day and miss out on centuries of information due to naiveté.

2) Doing things with your future self in mind

Making decisions with your future self in mind is a life hack, to say the least, because when you do this, you only make decisions that are beneficial to your future self, aka, will benefit you in the long term, as opposed to only making decisions that benefit you straight away.

It’s very easy to get caught up in the current moment and eat that chocolate bar because it will make you feel good for the next 5 minutes.

However, it takes resistance and discipline to not eat that chocolate bar because you know that in an hour you’re going to feel guilty for it.

Put your future self at the forefront of your mind when making decisions.

3) Taking enormous action

The final habit is taking enormous action. The reason this is a habit that will put you ahead is because the difference between where you are and where you want to be is the action that you take.

The shorter you can make the gap between having an idea and taking action on that idea, the more progress you will make in a shorter period of time.

LESSON OF THE DAY ⤵️

“How can I get out of bed early and start working? I just can’t stick to it, I always find myself pressing the snooze button.”

-Anonymous

You need to give yourself a solid reason. Waking up early with no reason to wake up early means that you need to depend on pure will.

When you have a solid reason, however, such as someone holding you accountable or you needing to complete a task, you will find it much easier.

It's the same reason why you will easily wake up early if you need to work your job, but you won’t if you tell yourself you need to do an early morning workout.
